Kansas CIL Housing Coalition (KCHC)
The objective of this website is to provide the public with the best information possible regarding affordable, accessible and integrated housing services and resources offered in the state of Kansas. Attempt to network those services and resources for people living with disabilities, and pass along any successes, improvements, pitfalls, or roadblocks to the public, CILs and Legislators for purposes of systems advocacy. Those of us working in Centers of Independent Living (CILs) across the state have the opportunity to advocate on behalf of our communities of people living with disabilities for housing they can safely live in and afford. This website exists for purposes of educating CIL customers, the general public and housing providers as to resources being offered to the communities we serve and advocate for and stay apprised of any changes or improvements in housing services and resources. The intention is always to contribute to affordable, accessible and integrated housing for those in most need of it. "There’s No Place Like MY Home and Community!"
Our website goals are as follows:
1. To be a resource for all those in need of a home to call their own.
2.Teach Kansas Communities the benefits of Universal Design for construction of public housing, the housing needs of people with disabilities and how to make Kansas housing accessible for all.
3. Encouraging people living with disabilities to participate with local, regional, and state organizations to promote and advocate for Affordable, Accessible, and Integrated housing. Identify housing information, resources, and training opportunities.
